Through the years, I saw my Blues fade to shades of gray;
Then I awoke one day to realize my grays had faded away.
They had faded from the blues and were no longer grays or shades;
My blues were now solid pitch black, even darker than the ace of spades.
My life was filled with darkness and my heart consumed with despair;
Feeling helpless and completely hopeless, I had no desire to even breathe air.
Then more suddenly than daybreak, there flashed an awesome light;
His forgiveness and His mercy cleansed me, whiter than the whitest white.
His compassion and grace shone brighter, than the light of the brightest day;
His beacon of love and acceptance chased all my shades away.
Now the only colors that I see are the blood of Jesus that He shed for you and me;
And the whiteness of my forgiven sin because He comes and makes the blind to see!
I no longer live my days, in shades of night or grays of misery;
Jesus fills my heart with rejoicing because he has opened my eyes for me.
His light is a beacon to lead us out of the darkness of captivity;
Like the lighthouse beside the ocean that guides the ships at sea!
His love turns blues, black and shades of gray to bold colors of red and white;
Not only do His colors NEVER fade, but they ALWAYS turn darkness into light!!!!
Isaiah 42:16 I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.
Isaiah 58:8-10 Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard… and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.
